Corn Maze

Yesterday we found ourselves with a free Saturday.  Since there are so many farms around there are also a lot of corn mazes.  I have never been to a corn maze so we decided to change all that.   Our day started our great.  The kids let us sleep in until about 8:30 and then we hustled to get everyone ready.

We packed our picnic, winter coats, hats and gloves and then we were off.  Spencer was in the wrap and fell asleep pretty quick.  He slept almost the whole time.  It was about 48 degrees but having him wrapped up against me and my sweatshirt over him, he kept toasty warm.  The kids were pretty excited and kept fighting about who got to lead the way.

The theme was space exploration so there were stations where the kids had to find answers to questions, do crayon rubbings and look at a top secret map of the maze in a little booklet they got.  I have done this before but it was fun.  It took us about an hour and a half to get through the maze and then we went on a hayride, did a "astronaut training" obstacle course, and ended at a corn box (think sandbox only filled with dry corn kernels).  We ate lunch there and the kids played some more while it lightly rained.

We came home a little muddy and tired but it was fun to spend some time together as a family.
